Lets go back to the Garden of Eden, and to the warning God Give Adam before the fall.

Genesis 2: 16-17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, you may surely eat of every tree of the garden, but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.

If we are willing to believe God on this, it is clear that the expected result of eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, was to be dead, and that the sentence was to be carried out immediately.

As I mentioned earlier Jesus felt that the meaning of the passage was that mankind was dead, and he highlighted within his 3½ year ministry the necessity of them being resurrected to life, regularly stating and demonstrating that he was the resurrection and life they required.

Jesus stated that unless he lived within us and we lived within him that we could not enter the Kingdom of God.

John 14: 20 In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you.

John 15: 5 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me.

The Apostle Paul explained this to us.

Ephesians 2:5-7 even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ by grace you have been saved and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.

>As Christians we need to understand that if Jesus is alive in us then we are equally alive in him. Jesus Christ is alive and residing in heaven and he is also alive on earth within the body prepared from him by his Father Hebrews 10: 5 Consequently, when Christ came into the world, he said, Sacrifices and offerings you have not desired, but a body have you prepared for me; also in Colossians 1: 18 And he is the head of the body, the church. He is the beginning, the first-born from the dead, that in everything he might be pre-eminent:

If we are his body, the body prepared for his life (spirit) to continue on earth after his crucifixion then our life (spirit) had to be given to him on the cross and therefore Paul is correct when he states that we live in him at the right hand of the father in Heaven and that he lives within us here on earth.

Are you a recipient of the living spirit of Jesus Christ, and in a perfect relationship with the Father through him. If not then you are dead, spiritually, and the physical fulfilment of that death will follow shortly. God stated that He wanted everyone to live and not die and that was why he sent Jesus Christ to carry our death penalty so that we could be alive in him. A Christian's life is safely secured in Jesus Christ in heaven now if you are willing to accept the terms of receiving this gift of life.

What terms I hear you exclaim, the terms the Father has imposed are that you will allow the remaining duration of this dying physical life to be used as a physical body to His son so that the gift of Christ may continue to be evident in the world as a witness of God's undying love and concern for His creation.

You may wonder how all this is possible? Let the Apostle Paul explain.

1st Corinthians 15: 21-22 For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.

What Paul means is that we received the spirit of Adam being the descendants of Adam but that when this dead spirit was changed to the living Spirit of Jesus we become sons of God by adoption if we have his Spirit than we are grafted in to the family of the Creator of the entire universe. Controversial or what?<

But then again Jesus was controversial and questioned the accepted knowledge of his day. It is therefore no less controversial for his followers today to preach and teach in the same spirit which empowers them today.

Are you willing to receive his message of good news, will you invite it in to your life. This has to be your decision, your call. God stands at the door, this is His Knock on your life, will you open the door and allow Him in.
